[FAFSA®] What if I’m not sure which college I’ll be applying to? Can I still fill out the FAFSA®?

Yes, you can apply for the FAFSA® even before your college list is finalized. In the FAFSA® form, you’ll be asked for a list of up to 20 schools that you are considering applying for (or attending). You can even edit this list later on, if you change your mind. It’s best to submit the FAFSA® as soon as it opens and then make changes to your school list later, if needed. That’s because some financial aid is given on a first-come, first-served basis, so you may get more aid by applying early.
