[FAFSA®] I have a FAFSA® PIN instead of an FSA ID. Do I need to create an ID now too?

Prior to 2015, the FAFSA® used a Federal Student Aid PIN. The newer FSA ID is different from the PIN. Fortunately, you can quickly transfer your PIN to an FSA ID. Follow the same process to create an FSA ID here. Once you create your FSA ID here, you will only use that from now on (you’ll no longer need the PIN).
