Only friends who sign up using your referral link count as referrals.

To see how many successful referrals you've made or refer friends to sign up:

  1. Sign in to your Going Merry account.

  2. Click the Going Merry logo in the top right corner of your account. In the drop-down menu that appears, click Refer a Friend to be directed to your Referrals page.

3. Refer friends to enter the Refer-A-Friend raffle.

The $1,000 Refer-A-Friend Scholarship can earn you and a friend $1,000 each! Each friend who signs up gives you 1 ticket ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ (which is equal to one referral). The more friends you successfully refer, the higher your chances to win!

How to refer friends:

To refer friends, choose one of the methods below. You'll find these methods on the right side of your Referrals page.

1. Fill out the referral scholarship application.

2. Share your sign-up link with more friends.

3. Send your friends an email invite.

Enter your friends' email addresses. Hit enter before typing in the next email address or hitting send. After typing the email address and hitting enter, the "Send" button will turn green.

How to see how many successful referrals you've made:

If your friends sign up for a Going Merry account and they verify their account, you'll receive a ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ ticket for each friend that signs up!

Remember, to receive a ticket, your friends must sign up as a result of one of the following:

  1. You filled out the referral scholarship application, or

  2. You shared your sign-up link with them, or

  3. You sent your friends an email invite from your Referrals page.

Refer more friends for more tickets to increase your chance of winning!

How to track referrals:

The Referral Tracker section of your Referrals page shows you how many referrals you sent through the $1,000 Refer-A-Friend Scholarship or by inviting them via email on the Referrals page.

If you refer friends by sharing your sign-up link, they wonโ€™t appear in your list of Referrals until they actually sign up.

You'll notice that your referrals have a Status.

  • Awaiting sign up means your friend has not signed up for an account yet.

  • Pending email confirmation means your friend signed up for an account but still needs to verify their email address (you will not receive a ticket until they verify their email address).

  • Confirmed sign up! ๐Ÿ‘ means your friend has successfully signed up for an account and verified their email. You will receive a ticket when your friends' status is Confirmed sign up! ๐Ÿ‘.

If you invite a friend and receive the message below, that means your friend already has an account. You cannot refer them or receive a ticket for referring them because they already have an account.

If your financial aid offer wasn't enough to cover your bill, we recommend you submit an appeal. Learn more about financial aid appeals here.

If you'll need a student loan to cover the rest, begin by researching the lender that will give you the best rate. Most private lenders allow you to answer a few questions risk-free and then get your estimated interest rate. Youโ€™re under no obligation to actually get the loan. We recommend checking with Earnest first. Get your rate estimate from Earnest here.
