[Providers] Does Going Merry contact applicants after we select the recipient(s)?

Yes, all applicants are contacted after the recipient(s) are selected.

All applicants are notified of whether they were selected to receive your scholarship or not on the scholarship's announcement date.

A scholarship's announcement date is generally ~4 months after the deadline.

In the example below, the scholarship deadline is May 31, 2024. The Evaluation period ends on September 27, 2024. Students will be notified on September 28, 2024.

If you select a winner in the provider portal, applicants will receive an email with a notification if they won or not. The status of the application will also be updated in the applicants' Going Merry profiles. Their status will say "Not Selected" if they didn't win and "You Won!" if selected as a winner.

We will also notify the counselors of scholarship winners (but we do not inform them about any other outcomes).

If you do not select a winner in the provider portal, applicants will not receive any email notifications as we do not know who won.

The status of the application will be updated to "Not Selected" in Going Merry student profiles for all applicants on the announcement date. Again, applicants will not receive an announcement email if you do not select a winner in the portal.
