You can make edits (or corrections) on the official FAFSA® website at fafsa.gov.

2. On your Dashboard, select your FAFSA® form under the "My Activity" section.

You’ll then be able to do things like update your email or mailing address.

Note that this editing functionality is only for mistakes you’ve made. If your original answers were correct, but things have changed (for instance, in 2023 your parents made a certain amount but have since lost their jobs), it is best to actually submit an appeal letter directly to your college, requesting that they base their financial aid offer on more recent information.

If tax information was imported directly from the IRS, this information cannot be changed on the online form.

If you filed your FAFSA® form as a dependent and change information about your parent(s), one of your parents must sign the form using their FSA ID.

Note that if you're simply looking to add/edit your college list, you can instead select "Add or Remove Schools" under the "Selected Colleges" section. This allows you to make edits to your college list without needing to re-sign your FAFSA correction (and have your parent re-sign it too).
