The Scholarship Wizard is a tool built into the Provider Portal that scholarship providers and counselors use to create and add scholarships to the Going Merry website.
๐ฝ๏ธ View a walkthrough that shows you how to access and use the Scholarship Wizard:
A Going Merry representative must create a Provider Account for you OR you must be invited to create a provider account by your program's administrator. For more information, reach out to us at support@goingmerry.com.
To start drafting your scholarship program:
1. Log in to your provider account.
2. Click the Menu button in the top left corner, then click the Draft Scholarships tab.
Once on the dashboard, you'll notice three tabs at the top of the page:
Create New
Copy 1 scholarship
Renew program
Create New
The Create New tab allows you to build a scholarship from scratch. When you click Create New, a new tab opens the Scholarship Wizard. Your new draft scholarship will appear under the In Draft tab of the Wizard dashboard.
Copy 1 scholarship
The Copy 1 scholarship tab allows you to copy another scholarship you've created. This is helpful if you have many similar scholarships. Instead of creating each scholarship from scratch, you can copy another scholarship and make any edits (for example, you'll want to update the name of the scholarship).
If the scholarship has a different essay prompt or deadline, make sure to make those edits as well. Your new draft scholarship will appear under the In Draft tab of the Wizard dashboard.
Renew program
The Renew program tab allows you to copy several scholarships. This is especially helpful in subsequent scholarship years. You don't have to build your scholarships from scratch year after year. Instead, use the Renew program tab to copy last year's scholarships. You can then make any small edits (for example, maybe this year you have a new essay prompt you need to add or a different document you want to collect), and that's it, your program is ready to go.
When you Renew the scholarships from last year, they will appear as draft scholarships under the In Draft tab of the Wizard dashboard (they won't automatically open to students until you review and then submit them).
3. To create a new scholarship, click Create New.
A new tab will open the Scholarship Wizard. This is where you'll enter your scholarship information.
The Wizard will ask you for the information needed to create a scholarship listing page and application.
Here's the information you will enter:
Scholarship Name
Scholarship Description
Scholarship Open Date
Scholarship Deadline
Award Amount
Number of Winners
Eligibility Requirements
Application Questions
Required Documents
Requested Profile or Demographic information you wish to collect.
Example Questions:
4. After entering your scholarship information in the Wizard, review your scholarship card, listing page, and application.
Make any final edits, click Looks good-Next, then submit the scholarship.
Once you submit a scholarship, you cannot make any additional edits.
If the scholarship is not finalized, you can leave it as a draft until you're ready to submit it.
As mentioned earlier, after you create a draft scholarship using the Create New, Copy 1 scholarship, or Renew program tabs, your draft will appear under the In Draft tab of the Dashboard.
Once you submit your finalized scholarships, they will appear under the Submitted for Approval tab. The Going Merry team will review your scholarships to ensure there is nothing seriously (or obviously) wrong with them before they open to students.
After the Going Merry team reviews and approves the scholarships, they will appear under the Approved/Live tab and will open on the date and time you indicated.
Once you submit a scholarship, you can view it on the My Active Scholarships page (click Menu then click the My Active Scholarships tab). The My Active Scholarships page is also where you'll go to view applications once students start applying.
If the Going Merry team has questions about a scholarship or a suggested edit, the scholarships will stay under the Submitted for Approval tab and will not be approved until you review the edits.
Examples of suggested edits:
Perhaps an education level wasn't selected as an eligibility requirement. We may ask: is your scholarship open to alumni and lowerclassmen or just seniors?
The incorrect high school was selected. For example, maybe you accidentally selected Lakewood High School in California when your Lakewood High School is located in Colorado.
If the Going Merry team has a question or suggests an edit, you will receive an email asking you to log in to your provider portal and review the question/suggestion.
After logging in, navigate to your Wizard Dashboard and click the Submitted for Approval tab.
You'll notice new notifications in red. These notifications are to alert you of the suggested edits from the Going Merry team.
If a scholarship is displayed in bold text and has a red dot notification next to a tab that says Review, that means the Going Merry team has a question or suggestion about that particular scholarship.
Click the Review button to see the suggestion.
The scholarship listing page will load, and a new sidebar will appear on the right that displays the questions or suggested edits from the Going Merry team.
Approve or Reject the suggested edits.
If you reject a suggestion, a text box will appear that allows you to explain the rejection.
Make sure to click Next after approving or rejecting the suggestion(s).
A new message will appear summarizing your selection.
You must select OK - Submit to send your response to the Going Merry team.
Be sure to hit OK - Submit to send your response to the Going Merry Team.
If you do not submit your response, the Going Merry team will not know if you approved or rejected the suggestion. This will delay the process.
Have questions? Reach out to us at support@goingmerry.com.
After you click OK - Submit, the Going Merry team will review your response.
If we think you rejected something incorrectly, we may simply make the same suggestion again and not allow you to proceed without accepting it.
If we approve everything, the scholarship will immediately go live on your selected Open Date. No further edits will be allowed. The scholarship will then appear under the Approved/Live tab.
