Only friends that signed up using your referral link count as referrals.

To see how many successful referrals you've made, begin by signing in to your Going Merry account. After signing in, you'll see a drop-down menu next to My Account in the far right corner. Click the drop-down menu, then click πŸ† Win Prizes by Referring and you'll be taken to your Referrals page.

Refer friends to enter the Refer-A-Friend raffle. The $1000 Refer-A-Friend Scholarship can earn you and a friend $1,000 each! Each friend who signs up gives you 1 ticket 🎟️ (which is equal to one referral). The more friends you successfully refer, the higher your chances to win!

Click the down arrows below to find out more info:

How to refer friends:

Refer friends through the $1000 Refer-A-Friend Scholarship or by sharing your customized sign-up link.

1. Fill out the referral scholarship application.

On the right side of your Referrals page, you will find the link to apply to the $1000 Refer-A-Friend Scholarship.

2. Share your sign-up link with more friends.

3. Send your friends an email invite.

Enter your friends' email addresses to invite them via email.

When using this option, type in your friends' email address, then hit enter, before typing in the next email address or hitting send. After typing the email address and hitting enter, the "Send" button will turn green.

How to see how many successful referrals you've made:

If your friends sign up for a Going Merry account and they verify their account, you'll receive a 🎟️ ticket for each friend that signs up!

Remember, to receive a ticket, your friends must sign up as a result of one of the following:

  1. You filled out the referral scholarship application, or

  2. You shared your sign-up link with them, or

  3. You sent your friends an email invite from your Referrals page.

Refer more friends for more tickets to increase your chance of winning!

How to track referrals:

The Referral Tracker section of your Referrals page shows you how many referrals you sent through the $1000 Refer-A-Friend Scholarship or by inviting them via email on the Referrals page.

If you refer friends by sharing your sign-up link, they won’t appear in your list of Referrals until they actually sign up.

You'll notice that your referrals have a Status.

  • An Awaiting sign up status means your friend has not signed up for an account yet.

  • A Pending email confirmation status means your friend signed up for an account but still needs to verify their email address (you will not receive a ticket until they verify their email address).

  • A Confirmed sign up! πŸ‘ status means your friend has successfully signed up for an account and verified their email. You will receive a ticket when your friends' status is Confirmed sign up! πŸ‘.

If you invite a friend and receive the message below, that means your friend already has an account. You cannot refer them, or receive a ticket for referring them, because they already have an account.

If your financial aid offer wasn't enough to cover your bill, we recommend you submit an appeal. Learn more about financial aid appeals here.

If you'll need a student loan to cover the rest, begin by researching the lender that will give you the best rate. Most private lenders allow you to answer a few questions risk-free and then get your estimated interest rate. You’re under no obligation to actually get the loan. We recommend checking with Earnest first. Get your rate estimate from Earnest here.
